So guys, I've got some news.
I now have specific dates when I could do the meetup. The dates I could host the Oppo meetup would be Dec. 26th, 27th (My birthday woo!), or January 11th or 12th. Now I could possibly host in sometime on a weekend earlier in December, but I think later will be better, unless you guys are busy on the dates I listed. We will be meeting in Knoxville, TN. I'm not sure the exact location, but I could figure it out. For things to do, I'm thinking we could (this is all just a maybe) drive over to Pigeon Forge, TN and race some awesome go karts at the Xtreme Racing Center. These go karts do about 40 so they are pretty awesome, and I think we'll have a blast if we do so. If you guys have any ideas, post em below!

But can we LS swap the Karts? If not then this is a no go

Yeah, easy. You might need to bring your own though

Due to my work schedule, anything but a Sunday is going to be pretty damned hard to make...
I miiiight have a sliver of a chance for Dec. 26th, but I doubt the karting place would be open...would they?

It's in pigeon forge- huge touristy place. If they aren't open I'll be a little surprised. But we could do it Sunday the 22nd, and the 12th of January is a Sunday.

I can try to work around your schedule. When are you leaving?

Ok. January 12th would probably be the best date for me.

Alright, now I gotta see how everyone else is with that.

There is no way, I'm leaving the 15th and coming back in january. And even if you can it is a long drive from atlanta that I'm not sure I can make

I'd love to go if I either have a car again or if I could hitch a ride from someone!
Also, from someone who goes to the Smokies quite often, the best bang-for-your-buck go karts in Pigeon Forge are at a place simply called "The Track." They're not fast by any means (depending on the condition of the one you get, they typically max out around 15 or 20...) but they're cheap enough and fun enough to be worth it. That said, the faster ones would absolutely be better, though I'm assuming they're too expensive to race back-to-back-to-back. So yeah, keep The Track (interesting note, the good track is called the Wild Woody. The track called "The Track" is shit, but the same place owns both and is called The Track. It's confusing.) in mind in case everyone wants more and doesn't want to spend as much.
That said, things might be totally different than I remember.
In any case, I don't think either of those times are good for me at all. If earlier January works, that might be do-able. Still, not sure how it would work leaving from Atlanta (presumably in my dad's car) and getting home the same day. Then of course hotels are assholes and almost always require you to be 21 to book a room, so I'd be stuck in that awkward phase where I can legally be out all night but I can't legally sleep anywhere. I'm definitely rambling at this point, but here's an idea:
How about we set up a map of all the interested southeastern Oppo-ites and pick the most central location (which has anything to offer, of course). That would probably mean meeting at one of the Pull-A-Parts outside of Atlanta or somewhere along the AL/GA border if we're pretty evenly spread out. Don't get me wrong; Knoxville and Pigeon Forge would be awesome. I'm just thinking there's probably a much easier place.

The Track is decent, but this other place is the best kart place I've ever been to, and you get 2 kart outings for 25 bucks (a lot) but then you get a "license" and all the other races are 12 bucks (still a lot but worth it). Also, the 12th is really the best time for it, I can't go any earlier in January, and as for the location, a few people who showed interest are in Kentucky and Virginia, so Knoxville will actually be more central for most people... If you can't go I'm sorry. Just see what you can do, it would be great for you to come!
